Distracting him when he behaves badly...
That night, he refused to sleep and was very cranky which was something quite unusal for Elliot during bedtime. Nothing seemed to work unless I carry him out of his crib, which I refuse to do it as he'll cry again when I put him back. So I took out his favourite hair piece and it really helped to cheer him up. :)
Precious Moment
Tthe view of him from my bed. As very soon he'll be sleeping in his own room. I realise this is something I would wanna always remember.

Elliot turns 2!
Elliot turns 2! We bought him a mini cake and did a mini celebration with him. When Daddy was bathing him, I quickly setup the table. When he was about to step into the living room after his bath, I switched off all the lights and only had the candles on the cake lighted. Elliot was surprised and when he saw the cake, he was saying "Nice! Nice! Nice!.... " all the way while he walked to the table. As expected, he couldn't wait to eat his cake and was stealing it even before we managed to cut the cake. Even though we are so far away from home, we did get ang baos (via bank transfer) from some of our friends, to asked us to help them get a nice present for Elliot. A big thank you from Elliot to Aunty Jenny, Saffron, Bay, Alvina, Ceciline, Keqi and Chris.

Potty Training
Note from Mummy:
Have been trying to potty train Elliot for a while. Till today, I only managed to make him pee in his potty once and none for his poo. Been doing a lot of research on the internet and asking around, but still can't get him to do it. So in the end, I have gathered, from my very own mother instinct that he is simply not ready and will be able to do it one day when he is. No point stressing over it and making him stress about it.
Here's the potty we bought for him, but till today has not been very useful other then being viewed by Elliot as a talking Elmo, placed in the bathroom that he can play with when he feels like it.
Here's how he looks like when he sat on the towel bowl. It wasn't a successful attempt though. Never was.
I got these from a website to check if Elliot is ready. He does have some signs of readiness but will prob need a bit more time.
PHYSICAL SIGNS:
• Is coordinated enough to walk, and even run, steadily. √ (VERY!)
• Urinates a fair amount at one time. ? (Not sure as most of the time can't see as he urinates in his diaper)
• Has regular, well-formed bowel movements at relatively predictable times. √ (Pretty predictable most of the time.)
• Has "dry" periods of at least three or four hours, which shows that his bladder muscles are developed enough to hold urine. X (I don't think so as his diaper is always wet after an hr or so)
BEHAVIORAL SIGNS
• Can sit down quietly in one position for two to five minutes. (Can only do this when snacking or watching his favourite channel)
• Can pull his pants up and down. X (Can only pull his pants down and likes to take off his pants)
• Dislikes the feeling of wearing a wet or dirty diaper. √
• Shows interest in others' bathroom habits (wants to watch you go to the bathroom or wear underwear. X (he only likes to bathe and wash hands)
• Gives a physical or verbal sign when he's having a bowel movement such as grunting, squatting, or telling you. √ (He only tells me after he's done in his diaper.)
• Demonstrates a desire for independence. Hmm...
• Takes pride in his accomplishments. √ (Definately, Loves to be praised)
• Isn't resistant to learning to use the toilet. √
• Is in a generally cooperative stage, not a negative or contrary one. √
COGNITIVE SIGNS
• Can follow simple instructions, such as "go get the toy." √
• Understands the value of putting things where they belong. X (Not really, still trying to train him on this so I can stop clearing up his toys after every playtime.)
• Has words for urine and stool. √ (Da pian! and Xiao pian nah!)
• Understands the physical signals that mean he has to go and can tell you before it happens or even hold it until he has time to get to the potty. X

More Artwork...
Barely 2 months enrolled in Gymboree's Art Class, Elliot is getting better with his artwork. He is learning to be more involved during art lessons. He is more hands on and interested. :) Here's some of his recent works:
5 Little Speckled Frogs
He did the drawings of the wood (brown lines) and sparkles on the froggys.
Painting
All done by him. All I do is hand him those brushes.
A Pocket Full of Posies
He did the little dots and glued the pocket while I helped him with the flowers.
