Picnic with Daddy

Daddy was invited to have lunch with me in school. I even made him an invitation card :) And when he arrived, I presented a door gift to him, to thank him for being able to join me for the picnic. I was really happy that Daddy can make it to the picnic. We had Chick-fila sandwiches for our lunch and Mummy bought along some fruits too.

From Mummy:
Elliot seemed to know that this is a special day for his Daddy and him. My child is really growing up fast... he seems to be able to understand alot more things then I realise... Seems like he really like to see his Daddy in school and is extremely happy when Daddy is able to pick him up after school.

My new home...

Mummy bought me a new house at only USD8 in Walmart supermarket. It is not staionary at 1 spot and I can actually move it around the house. Daddy said it seems more like a hamster ball that Mummy used to put her hamster in. Actually I kind of like it as I can shift it around wherever i wanna go.

From Mummy: this house did not last a week. By about the 5 or 6th day, Elliot has already started pulling out the rods that was suppose to hold up the roof and broke a couple of "pillars". I estimated that by a month's time, Elliot's house would be torn down...

Potty Training part 2

From Mummy:
Finally decided to continue with Elliot's potty training since the last one happened a couple of months ago. Reason being,

1) his school actually can bring them to the toilet if they are on pull up pants, and I think being influenced by his peers might actually speed things up abit - however in order to do so, I need to make sure he can pee/poo in the potty at home.

2) he seems to be able to tell me when he needs to pee or poo

3) he seems interested to use the potty

On top of all these, I really wanna save some diaper $ since meimei is arriving soon. I cannot imagine buying 2 different sizes of diapers everytime i do my grocery. And they are not cheap. A pack in US would cost abt USD19-21 and that can only last 2 weeks. And Elliot uses 2 different types, a regular and night diaper as the regular diaper cannot hold all his pee till the next morning.

So anyway.. i started putting him on the potty in his cloth training pants, and expected '"accidents" to happen. And it did.

On the first day, i put him on the potty every 30 mins. He wetted all 6 of his cloth training pants and actually needed more. He peed on the carpet 3 times, the other 3 times on the tiles. Thank god it was easy to clean and didn't leave any stain. So conclusion, first day of training.... NOT SUCCESSFUL.

On the 2nd day, by mid day he wet 4 of his cloth training pants. But after that he got it! He was able to tell me every single time he needs to pee and never wet any training pants since then. :) I am really very proud of him.

Of course things didn't happen so easily if not for the snacks i offered him whenever he sits on the potty. A lot of times, its the snacks he is after and not the need to use the potty. Also, he can only pee and not poo in the potty. Seems like its alot harder for him. So now I am off to thinking of other strategy to make him feel comfortable to poo in the potty. I forced him to sit on the potty once, and I think it mgive him nightmares at night :P its that bad... so I shall wait till he is more ready which is dunno when, before i implement my other strategies.

Daddy Slippers

These days I love putting on Daddy's slippers at home. Initially I did fall a couple of times, especially on the non carpeted areas. But like what u all adults said, practise makes perfect! Now I can walk anywhere with them and I really love them.

My lunch

Whenever I have to attend school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Mummy will have to wake up early (usually about half hr to 45mins earlier then me) to prepare not only my breakfast but also my tabao lunch for my lunch time in school. I call my lunch 爱心午餐. :) Usually my lunch will include sandwiches, snacks and fruits, things that are easy to handle for my little hands. Sometimes Mummy will give me nuggets and sausages, which are actually more yummy. She tried to make them more interesting by cutting them into cute shapes too.

1st week of school

A Little about My School - The Butterfly School
Elliot will be attending The Children's Day Out Program, 3X a week, 5hrs a day, starting this September. When meimei arrives, I feel that it might be a good idea to send him to school so I can concentrate taking care of meimei. It might also be good for him to learn to socialise with other people like his teachers and classmates, have a more stimulating environment for a couple of hours a week, rather then staying at home and watching sesame streets everyday.

1st day of school
Elliot cried after we left him in school. Probably not too used to being without us with him for the 1st time. My heart was broken when I went back to school after an hr to see how he was doing, even though deep inside I knew this is going to be good for him and knowing him, he'll love school very much once he get used of it. I stayed in the school compound to watch him, in case he was so upset that the teachers felt that it might be a better idea to bring him home early. I hid in corners and staircases so he won;t be able to see me. Even managed to catch a glimpse of him havng his lunch. Though Elliot did cried, which seemed pretty normal for a child who has nv been away from his parents, he did well for the 2nd half of the session and I didn't even need to bring him home early. Got to know from his teachers that Elliot was able to feel better during music lesson and after that, all was a breeze. When I picked him up, he was abit blur as he just woke up from his nap. Overall it wasn't too bad an experience for a 1st day in school and I can hope that tomorrow will be a better day for him.

2nd day of school
Cried when I left him in school. In fact when I reached the school carpark, he was already whining. He closed his eyes when I dragged him into the classroom. Teachers had to soothe him with cookies and music. Went to check on him again after an hr. he was doing well already. Btw when I was there, no other parents are there to see their kids. So it was a little awkward for me, but i couldn't care so much as I just wanted to make sure he was doing fine in school. When I returned to pick him after school, he ran to me the moment he saw me at the door and started whining and crying. Refused to step into the classroom again to pick up his backpack. He is doing better, but hopefully there'll be no more tears soon.

3rd day of school
Still very reluctant to go to school. Whined and cried when we were outside the classroom. Though reluntant, I felt that he didn;t resist as much as before. Maybe he knows that school is fun but just unwilling to part with Mummy?

It was school T-shirt day, and Elliot was in his school T-shirt. Looking happy in the morning cos he didn't know he will be attending school today :p
